These questions test your ability to correct mistakes in sentence structure, punctuation, and grammar. For example, you might be given a sentence like

    "He garnished the salad with tomatoes, that he grew himself in the garden."
The answer choices will give you three different replacements for the underlined words. Your job is to realize that the comma is incorrect. For example, you could replace the underlined words with
    ..."the salad with tomatoes that he grew himself"...

You won't be tested on your memory of specific rules of grammar (you don't need to remember the definition of "gerund" or other grammatical terms), but you will be asked to apply the rules of grammar in context by correcting mistakes in punctuation, grammar, and sentence structure.
